Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 May 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Bidwork (the "Platform"). Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

1. Agreement to These Terms

By creating an account, accessing the Platform, or using any Bidwork feature, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not use the Platform. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the Bidwork platform operator. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which together govern your use of the Platform.

2. About the Platform

Bidwork is an online marketplace that connects customers who wish to have work carried out with independent professionals who offer their services. Bidwork acts as a technology intermediary only: we do not employ professionals, guarantee the quality of work, or perform the underlying services. All contracts for services are formed directly between the customer and the professional. Bidwork provides tools for job listings, offer submission and acceptance, in-platform messaging, a platform payment flow (funds held pending job completion), and dispute resolution.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

To use the Platform you must: • Be of legal age to enter into binding contracts in your jurisdiction; • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date registration information; • Keep your account credentials secure and confidential; • Not create more than one account per person without prior permission. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, notify us immediately via Help & Support.

4. Customer Accounts

As a customer you may: • Post job listings describing the service you require, with accurate and complete information; • Review offers submitted by professionals and accept the one that best suits your needs; • Complete payment through the Platform promptly after accepting an offer, as described in Section 8; • Confirm completion of the job honestly and in a timely manner after the work is performed; • Leave a review based on your genuine experience. Customers are responsible for the accuracy of job descriptions and the suitability of a professional for their particular needs. Bidwork does not warrant that any professional is qualified, licensed, or insured for any specific task.

5. Professional Accounts and Verification

As a professional you may: • Complete the onboarding and verification process before submitting offers or receiving payments; • Submit offers on job listings that match your skills and service coverage area; • Carry out the agreed work to a professional standard; • Mark a job as complete once the work has been performed; • Receive payment to your connected payout account after funds are released. Professionals must complete identity and qualification verification as required by the Platform before payments can be released. Documents submitted for verification must be genuine and up to date. Misrepresenting your qualifications, identity, or availability is a material breach of these Terms. Payment services: Payment processing for professionals is provided by Stripe. Before receiving payouts, professionals must create or connect a Stripe account and accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement (or applicable Stripe terms). Bidwork is not responsible for delays, account holds, payout failures, or verification requirements imposed by Stripe. Tax and invoicing obligations: Bidwork does not issue invoices, receipts, or tax documents on behalf of professionals for the underlying services. Professionals are solely responsible for issuing any invoices, receipts, VAT documents, MyData/AADE submissions, and any other tax records required by applicable law. Bidwork provides Stripe-hosted payment receipts for the customer-facing payment only; these do not substitute for a professional's own invoicing obligations. Professionals are independent contractors and are solely responsible for compliance with applicable licensing, employment, insurance, health and safety, and tax laws.

6. Job Listings

Job listings must accurately describe the work required, including relevant category-specific details requested by the Platform's dynamic forms. Customers must not post listings for services that are unlawful, dangerous, or otherwise outside our Acceptable Use policy. Listings are visible to professionals whose verified service coverage area includes the job location. A listing may expire or be removed if it remains unfunded after offer acceptance or otherwise violates these Terms.

7. Offers and Bidding

A professional may submit one active offer per job listing. An offer states the proposed price and any relevant terms for completing the work described. Professionals are responsible for the accuracy of their offer and bear the risk of underpricing. Once a customer accepts an offer, the offer is locked and the customer is directed to complete payment through the Platform. Neither party may retract after acceptance except as provided in the Cancellation section (Section 10) or via the Dispute process (Section 11).

8. Accepted Offers, Platform Payment, and Fund Release

When a customer accepts an offer, they must complete payment through the Platform using our payment provider, Stripe. The payment amount is held by Stripe pending job completion and is not accessible to the professional until a completion event occurs as described in Section 9. Bidwork uses Stripe's platform payment infrastructure for this purpose; this is not a regulated legal escrow service. Bidwork charges a platform service fee on each transaction. The applicable fee percentage is disclosed in your dashboard at the time of the transaction and deducted at the point of fund release. Payment processing services are provided by Stripe. Stripe charges its own processing fees under Stripe's terms of service. Professionals are required to create or connect a Stripe account and accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement (or applicable Stripe terms) before receiving payouts. Bidwork is not responsible for delays, account holds, payout failures, or verification requirements imposed by Stripe. All payments on the Platform must be made through the built-in payment flow. Arranging payments outside the Platform is prohibited and voids any protections available under these Terms.

9. Job Completion and Release of Funds

The professional marks the job as complete via the Platform when the work has been performed. The customer is then notified and has 3 days to: • Confirm completion — the held payment is released to the professional minus the platform fee; or • Raise a dispute — the dispute process described in Section 11 is initiated. If the customer does not respond within 3 days, the held payment may be automatically released to the professional (the Platform's current default). This review window is a Platform setting that may be adjusted by the operator; the current configured value is shown in your account dashboard. Customers should not confirm completion unless they are genuinely satisfied with the work.

10. Cancellation and Refunds

The following rules apply depending on the stage of the job: • Before offer acceptance — the customer may close the job listing at any time with no charge. • After acceptance, before payment — either party may cancel with no financial consequence. • After payment, before the professional starts — the customer may request a cancellation; a full refund is normally available at this stage. • After work has started — a refund depends on the evidence of work performed and the circumstances. Either party may open a dispute (Section 11) if they cannot agree. • Professional no-show or failure to start — the customer may request a full refund via Help & Support. • Customer does not respond within 3 days of the professional marking complete — the held payment may be automatically released to the professional (see Section 9). Refunds, where applicable, are processed through Stripe and returned to the original payment method. Stripe's processing timelines apply (typically several business days). Bidwork reserves the right to use admin discretion in edge cases not clearly covered by the above rules.

11. Disputes and Admin Resolution

Either party may open a dispute ticket via Help & Support if there is a disagreement about completion quality, payment, or conduct. Once a dispute is raised, the held payment is frozen pending resolution. Bidwork's support team will review the dispute, may request evidence or documentation from both parties, and will issue a determination to release or refund the held payment. Bidwork's determination regarding the release or refund of held funds is final for the purpose of the Platform's internal payment flow, without limiting either party's mandatory legal rights or remedies available under applicable law. Bidwork is not a court and its dispute decisions do not substitute for, or otherwise affect, the legal rights or remedies of either party outside the Platform.

12. Chat and Messaging

The in-platform chat feature becomes available to a customer and a professional after the professional has submitted an offer on the customer's job. Chat is intended solely for job-related communication. Bidwork stores all chat messages and may access them for the purpose of resolving disputes, investigating abuse, or complying with legal obligations. Messages must comply with our Acceptable Use policy. Do not share sensitive personal data (e.g. payment card details) via chat.

13. Reviews and Ratings

After a job is marked as complete, both the customer and the professional may leave a written review and star rating for the other party. Reviews must be: • Honest and based on genuine experience; • Free from abusive, defamatory, or discriminatory content; • Submitted within the time window shown in the product. Reviews are visible on the respective user's public profile. Bidwork may remove or moderate reviews that violate these Terms. Users must not attempt to manipulate ratings through fake transactions or coercion.

14. Fees and Platform Commission

Bidwork charges a platform commission on the value of each completed transaction. The current commission rate is displayed in your dashboard and at the point of transaction confirmation. We reserve the right to change fees with reasonable prior notice. Payment processing is provided by Stripe. Stripe charges its own processing fees directly to the account holder as set out in Stripe's pricing and terms. Stripe's fees are separate from and in addition to the Bidwork platform commission, and are determined solely by Stripe. Professionals are responsible for any taxes, VAT, or levies applicable to amounts they receive. Bidwork does not withhold or remit taxes on behalf of professionals.

15. User Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of any content you post to the Platform, including job descriptions, offer text, profile information, portfolio images, and reviews ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant Bidwork a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and process that content solely for the purposes of operating and improving the Platform. You must not post content that infringes the intellectual property rights of a third party. Bidwork's own software, trademarks, and other proprietary materials remain our exclusive property.

16. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct

You must not use the Platform to: • Engage in fraud, misrepresentation, or any unlawful activity; • Circumvent the Platform's payment system by arranging transactions outside the Platform; • Post false or misleading job listings or offers; • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users; • Upload malware, viruses, or other harmful code; • Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Platform in ways that burden our infrastructure; • Impersonate any other person or entity; • Create multiple accounts to evade a suspension or ban. Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

17. Account Suspension and Termination

Bidwork may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to other users or the Platform. You may close your account at any time via your account settings, subject to any obligations arising from active or in-progress jobs. Closing your account does not affect any rights or obligations that arose before closure. If you believe a suspension is incorrect, you may appeal by contacting us via Help & Support. We will review appeals in good faith.

18. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor that any professional is qualified, licensed, or fit for any particular purpose. Professionals are independent contractors; Bidwork is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of work performed. Customers engage professionals at their own risk and should exercise due diligence. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bidwork's aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Platform is limited to the greater of: (a) the total fees paid by you to Bidwork in the three months preceding the claim, or (b) €100. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable mandatory consumer protection law.

19. Governing Law, Changes, and Contact

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Greek law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through our internal dispute process will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Greece. We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to you in advance via your account (using our checkpoint notification mechanism). Continued use of the Platform after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. For questions about these Terms: [[email protected]] or via Help & Support in your dashboard. For privacy matters: [[email protected]] or see our Privacy Policy. Operator details (legal name, address, VAT): see Section 1 of the Privacy Policy.
